The SWA (Student Windsurf Association) www.swa.co.uk organise weekend events at least once a month in different parts of the U.K.
These events are a really good way to meet loads of people and to, if you are a keen windsurfer, get some sweet prizes.
The weekends are a combination of great massive parties and extremely cold smurfing! Mostly, they’re most fun times you’ll have at Uni. The more you go, the more you love it because you’ll start to get to know the community.
Lots of Unis turn up to these events so they’re great ways to meet up with your friends.

The events will be added to the Socials/Events list on the website, and will be talked about (alot) at the meetings.

To sign up just turn up to the meetings. At each meeting you’ll be told about the next event and how much it costs (usually £30).
Most of the equipment is provided or can be borrowed but other things to bring usually include:

• Sleeping bag
• Lots of booze
• Shnacks and pasta salad
• Very warm clothes
• Wellies
• Towel
• Fancy dress costume
• Protection (of every kind)

What to expect:

The partybus usually leaves the concourse on Friday afternoon/ evening and heads off to the event. On Saturday morning at the break of dawn or a bit later you get taken to the reservoir or coast for a full day of hardcore windsurfing if the wind allows. A massive night out is planned for Saturday- fancy dress and all, with great music and sometimes live bands - and on Sunday it is back to some hungover and cold smurfing before getting back to Southampton in the evening.
